Bodega Noemía

Arguably some of the most beautiful vineyards in the world, this land in Patagonia has been farmed organically since the start. Founded by Countess Noemi Marone Cinzano in partnership with renowned Danish winemaker Hans Vinding-Diers, the estate was born from the restoration of an old Malbec vineyard in the Río Negro Valley. Today, Noemía combines organic and biodynamic viticulture with meticulous, low-intervention winemaking in pursuit of wines that truly reflect their unique Patagonian soils and micro-climate. The wines have incredible purity, terroir expression and old-world finesse, along with refreshing fruit and mineral drive.

This comes from a single vineyard of ungrafted vines planted in 1955. With 95% Malbec and 5% Merlot, J Alberto delivers deeper concentration, along with the estate’s trademark vibrant acidity and mineral-driven finish. Precise and structured, this can be served now but will keep well for 5-7 years at least. 

2019 Noemía, Bodega Noemía

The estate’s flagship Malbec, crafted from pre-phylloxera vines planted in 1932. Limited in production and widely regarded as one of Argentina’s most distinctive and iconic wines, Noemía combines elegant floral aromatics with intense red fruit, mineral complexity and a lengthy, refined finish.

At last night’s monthly (20 Feb.2026) blind tasting this outstanding, and a tad expensive, red from Hans Vinding-Diers won the night by far. This was bottle number 97 out of 441 produced.  

Delicious floral, fresh and delicate. It combines lightness with tension and a sprinkle of saltiness. Floating, airy and precise……………………………………………… 100/100pts W.P.H.
