”The end is only the beginning”

…and in the beginning ‘Les Premices’ (or the beginnings) is a new wine for me, and probably for you too, from the Egly-Ouriet stable. Their latest and long-awaited Champagne delivery has just come in direct to the bond (LCB VT) and we also have some of his new wine now in stock.
It is a blend of Chardonnay/Pinot Noir/Pinot Meunier from Trigny village (a little north west of Reims).  It is called ‘Les Premices’ and is a Brut NV Champagne.

How does it taste?
Well with bright floral notes and the natural richness of the Pinots, they come together nicely in this bottling.

There is good energy here. Disgorged: July, 2020, with 36 months on the lees. 90/100pts

36 bottles Egly-Ouriet ‘Les Premices’Brut NV @ GBP65bt/ib

We also managed to squeeze a couple of cases of the fabulous Brut Rose out of them and I have kept three bottles for me, sorry about that!

In stock today:  9 bottles Egly-Ouriet Brut Rose NV @ GBP91bt/ib

“We shall not cease from exploration
And the end of all our exploring
Will be to arrive where we started
And know the place for the first time.
Through the unknown, remembered gate
When the last of earth left to discover
Is that which was the beginning;
At the source of the longest river
The voice of the hidden waterfall
And the children in the apple-tree
Not known, because not looked for
But heard, half-heard, in the stillness
Between two waves of the sea. T.S.E.

A very Happy New Year! to you all.
